Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays the lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming ‘Guzaarish’ opposite handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan, has caused delay in the release of its trailer as her frantic cigarette smoking sequence did not go well with the makers.

Sources close to production house say that the sequence has Aishwarya Rai trying to light a cigarette to smoke, perhaps to irritate Hrithik Roshan’s character who is chair-ridden- paralytic but a chain smoker in the flick.

There were recent repots in the media suggesting that global icon; Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been signed up as the brand ambassador of Danone, a leading dairy brand in France. But the stories are far from truth, according to her publicist.

He publicist conveyed through an official mail, “Media reportage on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan signed on as the brand ambassador for Danone products is entirely untrue. This kind of vicarious publicity shows unprofessionalism on part of the brand and their agency.

The excitement of actors and ex-flames Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan clashing, at least in the theaters, would have to be kept on hold for some other day. Buzz is that Ash’s film with Rajnikanth in the lead was initially supposed to be released on the same day as Salman’s action film. However, Ash’s film has now been moved to a later day.

Says a trade observer, “The makers of the Ash-Rajnikanth starrer have been holding the release plans of the film pretty close to their heart. However the trade was getting enough hints that the film would arrive along with Salman’s film. With the festive season at its peak around this time, both the films wanted to make the best of this period.”

The latest twist in the tale has turned out to be quite surprising. Though one waits to get further confirmation from the makers themselves, it is being said that the release date has been moved to accommodate certain patchwork required in Ash’s film.

However, what cannot be ruled out is the fact that Salman’s film is also carrying massive hype and Ash’s film, which is also releasing in Hindi, would have been definitely impacted if the clash had happened.

Arbaaz Khan, producer of Salman’s film, is underplaying the entire episode though. “Even I had heard earlier that Rajnikanth’s film was coming on the same date as mine. However, I wasn’t worried because this date (around Eid) falls at such a good time that two big films can release simultaneously. There is place for everyone.”

Though this sounds diplomatic, Arbaaz can’t deny the fact that a clash would have led to a causalty, especially due to the past

shared between Salman and Ash.
“That depends upon the way you choose to project it, right,” smiles Arbaaz adding, “Ultimately people make their own choices and the better film will stand tall. Of course, one film, whether ours or theirs, would have suffered a bit had there been a clash. One can’t stop another film from releasing on the same date. You don’t own a date. We have worked very hard on our film and that’s what matters.”

However, with change in plans for Ash’s film, Arbaaz can be rest assured that his movie will get the cleanest run possible for a big release this September.

There’s a strong buzz in the industry that Aishwarya Rai is set to do a film with Hollywood comedian Ben Stiller soon.

Ash, who has worked with a number of international stars and also did a photoshoot with Kate Winslet recently, is reported to be in contention for bagging the lead role in a film that Stiller wants to do in India.

Incidentally, even Sonam Kapoor was said to be under consideration for a similar project with Ben Stiller. But she hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet. Now, it remains to be seen if Ash will wrest the part from her.

If you recall, Ash was also in talks with Michael Douglas for a Hollywood project to be shot in India. However, owing to Douglas’s dwindling health and his diagnosis of throat cancer, that project looks as good as shelved.

Chiranjeevi, megastar of South Indian film industry, is itching to complete his one and a half century in films that is to make his 150th movie his come back film. Guess who is the stimulation behind his snoozing aspiration? It is much acclaimed “Robot” that is superstar Rajnikanth who ignited the flame of acting in him agian. Chiranjeevi watched the promos of “Robot” at its audio launch and it was only after watching them he realized that the actor inside him desires to act in a movie. He considered his internal voice seriously and admitted the same in public.

Earlier he has bid farewell to film industry in 2008 and founded his political party Praja Rajyam Party. The party was pioneered by him with vision to bring changes in the political activities of the state. But the party could fetch only 5% seats in legislative assembly of the Andhra Pradesh. Though it was bit disheartening for the president of Praja Rajyam Party, Chiranjeevi but he is still confident and ready for alliance with parties having similar ideology.

Despite of not so successful start Chiranjeevi is acting as vibrant political leader. And at the same instance, he is listening to his fans’ voice who wants to see him on film posters along with political posters. Chiranjeevi was last appeared as special guest in his son Ram Charan Teja’s movie “Magadheera”. His last movie in the lead role was “Shankar Dada Zindabad”.

Though the actor turned politician, Chiranjeevi has expressed his wish to come back on silver screen but he really doubts if he would be able to do justice with his job as he is active in politics as well. However, he could not resist his first love that is acting. So he is geared up to wear greasepaint once again. His son Ram Charan confirmed the news and announced, “His large number of fans is missing him in action for over two years. Respecting their sentiments he has agreed to act in a movie”. He added that his father will soon be on big screen by his next birthday. He made this announcement on his father’s 55th birthday which he celebrated with his fans at Chiranjeevi Blood Bank on Sunday.

Chiranjeevi has in his account 149 movies which speak about his hard work that spanned over almost three decades. He is being honored with Padma Bhushan and seven Film Fare awards. And now he is contemplating over few scripts to choose one that suits him at this point of time. Chiranjeevi will be second actor after NTR to make his come back in movies after launching his political party. The only difference between the twosomes is the political graph that rises high in NTR’s case but could not shoot up for Chiranjeevi.

Aishwarya Rai rested the eye at the second showing of Vipul and Shefali Shah’s play ‘Bus Itna Sa Khwab‘ on August 22 late night at Rangsharda theatre, Bandra in Mumbai.

She accompanied husband Abhishek Bachchan and pa-in-law AmitabhBachchan to the event, dressed in a white button front loose fit shirt with folded sleeves and black slim pants. She kept cozy carrying a black and gray scarf.

She wore white peeptoe pumps with a black bow top and carried a black clutch.

Her hot pink nails were a rare sighting on her.

Abhishek looked cute in a white shirt with a pink floral print detail on the front, light blue jeans, brown pointy leather shoes and a brown striped scarf to keep him warm.

Amitabh Bachchan was his stately self in a blue pin stripe suit and white dress shirt.

The trio sat in the front row, next to Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna.

The Bachchans joined the rest of the audience for a standing ovation to a brilliant performance by Shefali Shah and the rest of the cast.

Shefali Shah gets appreciation and a warm hug from Big B

After getting such a grand reception to her performance, an emotional Shefali got a special hug from Big B.

“Incredible play ‘bas itna saa khwab‘ and Shefali Shah, Vipul’s wife, my wife in film ‘Waqt’, is just unbelievable..choked with emotion!” Amitabh tweeted after the show.

Talking about her role in the play, a socio-psychological thriller about the purpose of life and how reality is replaced by illusions, Shefali said,

“I am playing Shalini’s character which has got so many layers to it. She’s the most relatable woman and yet she can surprise you. My challenge is to portray her in a way that everyone can identify with her.”

Mumbai: Like many fans of southern superstar Rajinikanth, Bollywood’s light eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan too loves his art of flipping a cigarette in the air.

Recently, while shooting together for ‘Endhiran’, Aishwarya, who was keen on observing the veteran actor’s trademark scene, pulled a prank by repeatedly making same mistakes, so that Rajinikanth continued tossing his cigarette in the air.

Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Rajinikanth’s trademark style of tossing the cigarette, is loved by Ash. She could ask him once or twice at max to enact this scene for her, but she wanted to see it repeatedly. Thus she purposely kept making mistakes while shooting her scene; Rajinikanth ended up enacting his patented stunt six times.”

“It was after the wrap-up of the shoot that Ash mentioned to Rajinikanth about how much she loves the way he does this particular stunt, and she was bluffing so that she could see him do this time and again. Rajinikanth burst out laughing and took it in his stride,” the source said.

When contacted Shankar, the director of the film confirmed the news and said, “We only realised while shooting that Ash was such a big fan of Rajini sir.”

The Bachchan bahu has decided to donate her beautiful eyes after she dies. The actress will do it for the Eye Bank Association of India that has continuously spread the awareness about the need for eye donation.

Aishwarya has pledge her eyes saying, “People know me more because of my eyes. So, I decided to donate my eyes.”

The actress is also supported by veteran actor Om Puri who asked urged the Mumbaikars to pledged their eyes. The campaign is on till August 31.

Tamil mega star Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer bilingual film Endhiran is being touted as the costliest film of India with a budget of Rs 150 crore.

The film, which will be released this September inTamil and Hindi (Robot), has been in the making for over two years and has been shot in exotic locations like Vienna in Austria, Machu Picchu in Peru, US and Brazil.

Rajinikanth, 60, loved by audiences for his flamboyant style onscreen, plays a double role of a scientist and robot in the film.

The movie boasts of an impressive foreign crew that has costume designer E Vogt and stunt coordinator Yuen Woo Ping.

According to industry sources, the budget of the film is double of the action entertainer ‘Blue‘, which had a budget of Rs 75 crore.

The 40 per cent of the cost has been spent on the special effects in the science-fiction film, which has been directed by S Shankar and produced by Sun TV owner Kalanithi Maran.

Film’s music is by Oscar-winner A R Rahman.

Some of the other films, known for their extravagant budget include K Asif’s evergreen historical love story, Mughal-e-Azam. The film took nine years in the making and cost Rs 12 crore in 1960. Kamal Amrohi’s historical film Razia Sultan starring Hema Malini cost around Rs 23 crore in 1983 and Yash Chopra’s action thriller Dhoom-2 is said to be made on a budget of Rs 55 crore.

High fever forced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to cancel her visit to the music launch of the Telugu version of her film Endhiran/Robot in Hyderabad.

Aishwarya was all set to fly to Hyderabad yesterday morning for the Telugu music launch of Endhiran/Robot but she got up with a very high fever….she could not make it but she did send across her good wishes and thoughts through a speech, the actor’s spokesperson said.

The 36-year-old actress said due to high fever, the doctor insisted she stay at home and rest. Thanking the people of Hyderabad and the Telugu film industry, who have been very supportive through out her career,

Aishwarya said Endhiran/Robot is a very special film, and the entire team that has worked so hard on its making. She said that technically the film is a first of its kind in Indian cinema and they are very excited to share such a special film with the audience.
